My rankings of the Kragg units!
Kragg is a very straightforward faction. Simply charge into battle and mash your enemies. While that is Kragg’s best tactic, they enhance it with abilities that reward you with more points for more carnage. Kragg also mixes in an underrated group of ranged attackers and aerial units as well to provide a little bit of balance. Kragg’s 2 biggest weaknesses are a lack of powerful spells and bottom of the barrel rank. The low overall faction rank often means enemy factions can set and implement their go-to strategies against Kragg.. but fortunately, Kragg is tough enough to withstand that first enemy blitz.
Here is my Kragg tier list! (And of course the Tiermaker link)

- Superb Tier: Greater Roc
- A Tier: Ogre Berserker, Troll Ravager, Ogre Mauler, Troll Crusher
- B Tier: Goblin Scout, Kifoguru Charger, Wild Kongamato, Feral Griffin
- C Tier: Orc General, Veteran Orc, Monstrous Ogre
- D Tier: Goblin Stonethrower, Orc Goliath, Orc Warlock
D TIER: Goblin Stonethrower, Orc Goliath, Orc Warlock
Kragg is limited significantly by units with 1 rank. Goblin Stonethrower and Orc Goliath are two of the main culprits. Goblin Stonethrower is a below average ranged unit anyways, but at least is really cheap. Orc Goliath has some useful muscle, but there are better options. Orc Warlock is unique in that it is Kragg’s only spellcaster. Due to this, the Orc Warlock has all the mana to themselves. Statistically speaking, Orc Warlock is a decent defensive unit (for a spellcaster) with Spell Ward and 2 health and a bad spellcaster (also for a spellcaster). Shockwave won’t take over a battle on its own.
C TIER: Orc General, Veteran Orc, Monstrous Ogre
Both of Kragg’s Captains appear in this tier. Just to clarify, both Orc General and Veteran Orc are crucial units for Kragg as they need Captains to command the heavy hitting, low rank units, so both Orc General and Veteran Orc see the board a lot. Again, like Orc Warlock, from a statistical standpoint, both Orc General and Veteran Orc leave a little to be desired. Orc General is simply going to command and do nothing else impactful. Veteran Orc is more useful in combat thanks to the Ranged attack, but is a little weak for 6 gold. Monstrous Ogre is anything but weak- with excellent attack and defense, as well as Natural Toughness. Monstrous Ogre is an absolute force on the front lines. The issue is actually getting the Monstrous Ogre there. 1 rank means your enemies can spread out and pick it apart from a distance. Unless it’s commanded, which takes away that potential from other units, it’s almost always reacting last.
B TIER: Goblin Scout, Kifoguru Charger, Wild Kongamato, Feral Griffin
Kragg’s aggression is highlighted by some of the faction’s low cost, mobile units. Kifoguru Charger is all gas, no brakes. It takes the quickest possible route into the fray thanks to Bullrush and sets the tone offensively. Contrary to Kragg’s strengths, however, it can’t survive any counterattacks. Wild Kongamato and Feral Griffin both are decent flying support units. Wild Kongamato’s good movement and Feral Griffin’s Swoop ability enables both units to be used to score some points. Both have mundane overall attack and defense. Goblin Scout is another 1 cost 3 movement resource center snatcher.
A TIER: Ogre Berserker, Troll Ravager, Ogre Mauler, Troll Crusher
I tend not to put melee only units that are not Captains/not Aerial higher than B tier. Especially if they have average rank and movement. They’d better be absolute combat powerhouses for what they cost to earn an A tier slot. Well, Kragg has 2 units that are combat powerhouses. Ogre Berserker and Ogre Mauler. Both are Captain reliant with 2 movement and 2 rank, but wow- for 6 and 7 gold respectively, you are getting some true monsters. Ogre Berserker has attack and defense value for 6 gold, and Natural Toughness supports its durability. Ogre Berserker can go on point scoring rampages thanks to Onslaught and Bonecrush. With a whopping 5 attack (can activate Bonecrush) and a reasonable 6 gold (can activate Onslaught) Ogre Berserker picks up an extra point on a kill more often than not… and it’s not rare for it to pick up 2 extra points. Ogre Mauler is a beast to try to kill- Natural Toughness and really high defense makes eliminating it a chore. It’s no slouch as an attacker either, and can use Frenzy to pummel multiple enemies that gather near it trying to take it down. Mauler allows Ogre Mauler to score a point even if the strong regular attack doesn’t fully eliminate the unit. Troll Ravager and Troll Crusher are both very dangerous ranged units. Troll Ravager’s Versatile can obliterate what your opponent has on the board if they make positioning mistakes. Units with full range (or ranged attacks that don’t only have 1 use) don’t often have 4 health, making Troll Ravager a formidable enemy. Troll Crusher packs a huge punch with that single ranged attack. In fact, I think Troll Crusher’s ranged attack is Kragg’s best finisher if set up properly. The Crusher can also mix it up with good old fashioned melee attacks. Bonecrush can help the Troll Crusher tack on an extra victory point now and then. Just like the Ogres, the Trolls have nondescript rank and movement.
S TIER: Greater Roc
Most of the time, Greater Roc will rule the skies. Greater Roc can annihilate smaller Aerial units and survive almost any attack, especially since Menace wards off a lot of enemies. The Greater Roc is also elite at serving as the game’s biggest decoy. When the Greater Roc lands, it usually eliminates a unit, but then most factions will try to take the chance to eliminate it with their ground troops before it can elevate again. Attacking the Roc saves wear and tear on the list of deadly Ogres and Trolls in the A Tier and the more delicate but attack-prone units in the B Tier. Greater Roc’s sheer size and toughness make it game-changer almost every time it is recruited.
