My 5 least favorite Terrain Tiles (to go up against!)

Placing Terrain Tiles in a game of Factions can have a major impact on the battle. There are strategic elements that differ for each faction when it comes to terrain. I have found that there are a few tiles that can really be a thorn in my side!! Here are 5 of them (in no particular order):

This Vitawaasi Tile is really dangerous, especially when using a Trapper strategy. Vitawaasi can force you to have to either eat up a trap or hit the water, thus ending an activation. Vitawaasi has the ranged units to surround this tile and the traps/water. Elite Ambushmaster is an outstanding unit to use with this particular tile, as they can lay a trap, shoot enemies passing through, AND use Ambush on a poor sucker like me just trying to get across the battleground!

When going up against Zermano, I can sometimes make the crucial mistake of forgetting about the Aquatic units. This tile gives Zermano some options for that. It also is a great barrier for Storm Conjuror and Zermano Battlemage to volley spells over. I have found myself stuck between a rock (Aquatic units) and a hard place (long range spells) several times, and this tile has been the cause of it!

I get into some major trouble courtesy of this Primus tile because the water spaces can be placed on the edge of the battleground, forcing units close to the center… The reason this has been problematic for me is because of the Monarch Coatl and Arcane Blast. I’ve fallen for this trick a couple of times– bunching units in the center of the battleground only for them to get demolished by Arcane Blast.

This tile can maximize Moonshadow’s strengths. Like Zermano and Vitawaasi’s tiles, it leaves units vulnerable to big time ranged abilities like Slayer and Versatile. What has really gotten me though is Swiftstriker. I’ve been caught leaving units with good health on the water spaces, which has led to some devastating consequences.

My least favorite tile in the whole game to go against is this Baazaria tile. The best way to beat the undead is to force them to get into heavy melee combat, and the best way to do that is to get them to need a mana pool. That forces Baazaria to move toward the resource centers where you can overpower them and then rush their basecamp area while they are low on mana. Well, when they have 4 spaces right outside the basecamp, there is no need for Baazaria to do anything besides give the Deathstorm Lich a couple Regenerating bodyguards, maybe a mana producer, and then just sit back and Deathwave you over and over without ever having to cross the battleground.
